When in the North End of Boston, Mike’s Pastry is a must. They have just about any type of pastry, cookie, pie, or cake you can think of, so to say it’s overwhelming is an understatement. Trying to choose between the many delicious desserts is nearly impossible and I always end up getting way more than I plan on. Every time I’ve been here, I’ve had to wait at least 10 minutes in line because it is always so busy! However, I will happily wait in line because what is at the finish line is well worth the wait. People come from all over the world to try the famous cannolis and they are never disappointed.
During my most recent visit to Mike’s Pastry, I decided to try the Amaretto Cannoli. Cannolis are one of my favorite desserts and I always get one if they’re on the menu. Mike’s Pastry cannolis are easily the best cannolis you will ever have; they’re known for their cannolis for a good reason! They offer so many different flavors, but the amaretto cannoli caught my eye and seemed like a good choice. It sure was! The almond coating gave it a nice crunch with a little bit of saltiness, and the amaretto flavored filling was to die for.
